The Preservation Society of Newport County has announced it will be hosting a fashion show and champagne brunch on July 17th. The fashion show will feature the designs of nationally renowned designer Angela Moore, with all proceeds going to benefit the Preservation Society.
Scheduled to coincide with the 375th anniversary of Newport, the theme of the fashion show is appropriately named “Newport Forever.” To further celebrate the history of Newport, Moore will be debuting her limited edition Newport Forever jewelry at the event. Moore will also be showing her new collection of designs with the help of well-known models. In addition to calling upon Newport celebrities to model the designs, the show will also feature familiar television and fashion personalities as models.
In addition to showcasing designs from Moore, who will be emceeing the event, the fashion show will also include works from other well-known designers. Some of these include Just Madras, Jack Rogers, Dizzy Lizzie and Manueal Canovas. J. McLaughlin, who is a nationally-recognized menswear designer, will also be featured in the show.
The event will start at 9:00 am with a cocktail reception on the terrace of the Rosecliff. The fashion show and brunch will take place shortly after in the ballroom. Reservations are required for the event and seating is limited. Tickets for members of the Preservation Society are $90 each, while the cost for non-members is $95. Ticketholders gain admission to the fashion show and brunch as well as a $25 Angela Moore Gift Certificate and a package ticket to tour The Elms, which is another Preservation Society Property. Ticketholders also have the opportunity to take the behind-the-scenes Servant Life Tour offered by the Preservation Society.
The event will take place at Rosecliff, which is located at 424 Bellevue Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island. To get to the mansion from Boston, follow 128 South/I-95 South to where 128 becomes 93 North. Take the exit for Route 24/Fall River. Follow Route 24 to Route 114 South through Portsmouth and into Middletown. Turn left at the intersection of Route 214/Valley Road, which is located just after Dunkin Donuts. There will be a traffic light at this intersection as well as a Modern Furniture Galleries on the corner. Continue on 214 for about 2.2 miles until you reach the beach area. You will pass through 3 stoplights before reaching this area. Turn right on Memorial Boulevard, which is a four lane divided road right past the beach area. Take Memorial Boulevard to the top of the hill and turn left on Bellevue Avenue, which is located at a four-way intersection.
