Boston Offering Many Tech-Centric Events in the Coming Months

If you are interested in technology, you might want to check out one of the many events related to technology and innovation that are scheduled to take place in Boston this summer and fall. Here is a look at a few of the events that will be happening soon.

Tech Night at the Museum

Hosted by Technology Underwriting Greater Good (TUGG), Tech Night at the Museum will feature a museum-wide scavenger hunt at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Participants will be divided into teams of 10 people, 8 from tech and two from a TUGG portfolio nonprofit, as they compete for prizes. They will also have the opportunity to enjoy food, wine and beer at an open bar. The event takes place on August 10th at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $40 per person.


The annual BostonFest, which attracts hundreds of people from the Boston startup and tech scene, is hosted by BostInno each year. Held in honor of the city of Boston, the event takes place on August 11th at 6:00 pm at 200 Seaport Boulevard.

Boston Data Festival

With a goal of bringing together the data-centric community, the fourth annual Boston Data Festival is a multi-day event offering opportunities to learn, network and collaborate. Hosted by Microsoft New England Research and Development Center, the event features 20 workshops and 50 speakers. The event takes place between September 22 and 24. One-day passes are $89, three-day passes are $199 and premium training passes are $499. All three passes give participants access to talks, workshops, the exhibition floor, the career fair, recorded talks and networking events. The premium training pass includes training from VIP speakers.

Babson Breakaway Challenge

The Babson Breakaway Challenge is a startup competition meant to promote gender parity in VC. Hosted by Babson College’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership, branding firm Breakaway and Boston-based venture capital. Participating teams will be rewarded with a total of $250,000 in in-kind donations. The Demo Day will be held on September 23 in Boston’s District Hall.


HUBweek is aimed at honoring the most innovative people in science, art and technology. Hosted by The Boston Globe, MIT, Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital, the weeklong innovation and entrepreneurship event will take place at many locations throughout Greater Boston from September 25 through October 1.

Under 30 Summit

Featuring five events at a variety of different venues throughout Boston, the Under 30 Summit is held at different cities each year. This year, Boston was selected by Forbes to serve as the host city. Expected to bring together more than 5,000 entrepreneurs and other game changers, the event will take place from October 16 through the 19. Some of the speakers already announced for the event include Shark Tank alums and entrepreneurs Brittany Hodak and Kim Kaupe, Rent the Runway co-founder Jennifer Hyman and YouTube entertainer Bethany Mota. The main event for this year’s event will take place in Faneuil Hall.
