If you are looking for something fun to do with mom this year, you will be happy to learn that there are many Mother’s Day activities from which to select.
Boston’s Duckling Day Parade is a fun event that retraces the steps of Mr. and Mrs. Mallard and their eight young ducklings from Robert McCloskey’s Make Way for Duckling. To celebrate, young children dress in yellow to resemble their favorite duckling from the story. Some participants also choose to decorate their strollers or to even bring a decorated wagon to pull their children behind them during the parade.
The annual Duckling Parade will take place on Sunday, May 8th starting at noon. The event will take place at Boston Common and the Public Garden, with pre-registration taking place at 10:00 am on Boston Common at the Parkman Bandstand. Pre-parade entertainment will be provided. Participants must make a $35 donation if registering before the day of the event. The cost is $40 for those registering on the day of the event. Snacks, entertainment and a goodie bag for each child is included. Massage therapists will also be at the event to provide free mini-massages to moms.
