If you are looking for some adult fun in Boston, there are plenty of festivals, tours and other events for you to enjoy. Here is a look at just a few.
Salem’s So Sweet Festival
Salem will be hosting its So Sweet Chocolate and Ice Festival once again this year. This 15th annual event will feature delectable chocolate, ice sculptures and plenty of opportunity for Valentine’s Day shopping.
The festival will kick off with a chocolate and wine tasting event on February 10th starting at 6:30. Tickets for the tasting, which will include wine and chocolate samplings from premier sweet shops, restaurants and stores in Salem, are available at a cost of $30 each. The following day, a record-breaking 25 ice sculptures will grace downtown Salem along with an actual ice bar on Rockafellas’ patio. Many downtown businesses will also offer special discounts and other officers on February 11th and 12th.
The So Sweet festival will take place from February 10th through February 12th throughout Salem. The event is made possible through the cooperation of the Salem Chamber of Commerce, Salem Main Streets, Destination Salem and local restaurants, retailers and businesses.
Irish Comedy Tour
Offering the party atmosphere of a Dublin pub, the Irish Comedy Tour features comedians whose ancestors hail from Ireland. Among these are Detroit native Derek Richards, Boston native Mike McCarthy, Nova Scotia’s Damon Leibert and Derrick Kean from the suburbs of Dublin. The tour will be stopping in Somerville on February 23rd at The Rockwell, with the show starting at 8:00 pm. Doors open at 7:30 pm with tickets costing $18 in advance or $25 at the door. Tickets for the VIP section, which is located directly in front of the stage, cost $25. The 90-minute show is for audience members 21-years-old or older only.
8th Annual Chili Cup
The 8th annual Chili Cup is an annual competition between local Boston restaurants that benefits Community Work Services. Taking place February 16th from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at Ned Devine’s at 1 Faneuil Hall Marketplace, participating restaurants include Ned Devine’s Irish Pub, Anthem Kitchen + Bar, Lulu’s Allston, Pier 6, Mija Cantina, Community Work Services, Reel House, Glass House, Tico, Causeway Restaurant & Bar, Clerys, Gather, NOLA’s Fresh Foods, Cheers, Dick’s Last Resort and The Draft Bar and Grill. As usual, the winner of the competition will be determined by the votes of the public.
Valentine Date Night with Clay
Valentine Date Night with Clay is a couple’s event where you are invited to bring your sweetheart for an evening of ceramics. Work together on the wheel, build your own romantic sculpture, decorate clay hearts and enjoy the wine and refreshments that are included as part of the activity. The event includes over 1.5 hours of instruction and assistance in building and decorating a ceramic item as well as firing and all of the materials.
This event is limited to 10 couples per session with a minimum age of 21. Participants are encouraged to bring a change or clothing or to wear protective garments to keep their clothes clean, particularly if the evening includes dinner plans.
