Harpoon Brewery has announced that its 25th annual German-style Octoberfest will take place on October 3rd and 4th. The annual event will feature live music, German food and a large selection of Harpoon beers and ales, including UFO Pumpkin.
Recognized as one of New England’s largest Octoberfest celebrations, the Harpoon Octoberfest is slated to feature three stages offering live music. Other planned events include keg bowling, a German chocolate cake eating contest and chicken dancing.
The cost to enter the Harpoon Brewery Octoberfest is $20 per person. This fee includes one drink and a souvenir cup. Additional drinks and food are available at additional cost. Designated drivers receive complimentary non-alcoholic beverages. Tickets for the event are not sold in advance and cash only is accepted at the door.
To save on the cost of participating in the festival and to receive VIP treatment, interested participants may wish to become a Friend of Harpoon. Becoming a Friend of Harpoon is free and only requires filling out an online form. Once you become a Friend of Harpoon, you can receive half-off admission to the festival on Friday, October 3rd. On Saturday, October 4th, the your Friend of Harpoon membership will not provided you with a discounted entry price. It will, however, provide you and a guest with VIP priority access.
As a Friend of Harpoon, you will also receive a monthly e-letter and access to exclusive events. Typical events include private beer tastings and beer dinners, new beer releases, Fenway Park nights and Harpoon X-Nights. Members also receive occasional discounts for ski passes, concerts, shows and sporting events.
The festival will be open from 5:30 pm to 11:00 pm on October 3rd, with doors closing at 9:30 pm. On October 4th, the event will take place from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with doors closing at 7:30 pm. The event is taking place at 306 Northern Ave on the South Boston Waterfront. No parking is available at the festival, but a shuttle is available from the South Station.
