Calling all teens living in Somerville homes who love to write! November is National Novel Writing Month (Nanowrimo). It’s a fun challenge where people write a novel in 30 days. There is no cost to sign up. The challenge is a fun learning experience, and participants learn how to schedule their time so they can write every day. Teens who aspire to be writers should be encouraged to join the challenge. They may not write the next Great American Novel, but they will get the valuable experience of setting a goal and sticking with it.
The Somerville Library is hosting a Teen Nanowrimo Write-In for teens in Somerville homes. It will be held Saturday, November 16th at 1 p.m. at the Central Library, located at 79 Highland Avenue. This is a great time for teens to have a quiet place to write. They can meet other teens who live in Somerville who share their passion for writing. Teens just need to bring along their favorite writing implement or their laptop. The library will provide paper. There will also be two library laptops for the event. Novel writing teens can grab a caffeinated drink and a snack and get to work. Click here for more information.
